What We Do

Twice a month, we select the most promising new works to feature. We focus on plot, playwright, and significant production values, such as cast and creative team (see example). Last year, we profiled almost 1,000 shows.

We review new works on stages across the country. The Compulsive Theatergoer offers a theater veteran’s critical perspective. An FYI column covers industry news, as space permits.

Our customized database tracks the most accurate and up-to-date information. We can search for information on various topics, for example, works by a specific playwright or company.

By request, we can also provide subscribers with comprehensive abstracts; these are generally for professionals considering further development. Think of it as the stage between the profile of a play and the actual script.
